24 hours to uncertainty (or destruction)

Alhamdulillah. i had a beautiful day today. good food, great company :) but i dont know for sure whether tomorrow and the days after will be as beautiful. hari ini berbuka agak jauh. otw there the traffic was so bad it made us wonder why on earth the normally fast moving road sangat sesak. only later we realized rupanya ada perhimpunan anjuran perikatan pembangkang di stadium Kelana Jaya. baru teringat esok merupakan hari yang bakal meniggalkan kesan mendalam dan perubahan signifikan dalam pemerintahan negara.
lately September 16th has been a crucial date for Malaysia. the well known issue is of course pertaining to the change of government. the other sub-issue brought up was a proposal to change the independance date from August 31st to September 16th on the ground that the current date excludes Sabah and Sarawak. kenapa setelah sekian lama baru isu ini diutarakan pun aku tak tahu. after 50 years, this country is facing a huge possibility of seeing the prevailing government being replaced by fresh faces. one is known as the face of reformation in this land. but the others, mostly, are new with zero experience as the government. personally i like changes. specifically positives ones. but the question is, will this change bring positive outcome? i am not judging. no one knows for sure what will happen after tomorrow. as much as i am disappointed with the current government for some questionable actions, disfunctional policies and corruption cases that has somehow become a chronic cancer within that institution, i am not afraid to express my fear and doubt towards the new government that is about to be formed, in case the change of goverment succeed tomorrow. bukannya apa. terlalu besar kekangan di pihak kerajaan. namun, terlalu banyak juga ketidakpastian di barisan pembangkang. kabinet bayangannya juga macam tak berapa nak ada. nak memerintah negara bukannya mudah. ini bukan kes tukar-tukar or rearrangement of tempat duduk dalam class. ini kes pertukaran tampuk pemerintahan sebuah negara. we are putting the nation's fate at stake. bersediakah kita mempertaruhkan 51 tahun kemerdekaan kerana sebahagian besar kita enggan mangaku salah dan mengalah. bermimpi itu tidak salah sama sekali namun biarlah realistik. takut-takut nanti sekadar menganga berangan-angan akhirnya yang dikejar tak dapat yang dikendong pula berciciran.
amidst all this debate about the change of goverment, we forgot one thing. at the moment the nation is split into two between the current government and the coalition of opposition parties. whereas at this very same moment, what we really need to do is to unite as a nation. whether you like it or not, face it. we are heading towards economic recession. even Britain and New Zealand are. for the past recent years, Malaysia's annual economic growth is only averagely 5% which is relatively low compared to our economic growth 10 years ago. 2020 is just 12 years away. if this is the speed we are currently moving at, something drastic needs to be done to push the nation forward.
