a day of suprise(s)

i've already talked about last week, which was tough. today is only monday and i can foresee that this week, will be tougher. the day started with the long LRT ride to gombak, with my heavy handbag on one shoulder, my heavier lappy bag on the other, and my file's bag in one hand. i think they should start selling extra shoulders because i'll be needing one very very soon.

just like any other day, i have aims to fulfill today and that is to finish my second draft for the applicant's and respondent's memorial (for my mooting competition). but it turned out that i dont have to finish up male captus because, suprise suprise! there was a shuffle of the team members and i was affected. not only that, due to short of hands, we needed to shuffle our forte topics as well. and again, suprise suprise! i have to start doing 'expropriation' from scratch and get it done for both sides by thursday morning. great. splendid. awesome.

lucky me for having a wrecked nervous system, i told myself i shall not sigh but to take up this challenge, because He only test us with something that is within our capabilities. and InsyaALLAH i will survive this challenge. i will make sure i will!

the third suprise of the day is the sweetest, because my moot master, sir Raja Bad, or RB as we call him + his wife Madam Suzana came up with a suprise birthday cake for us June babies :) and that is Kak Nik (19th), Zayd (24th), and I (in 3 days time hihi). and the cake was choc indulgence, my fav :) tho there was a hilarious blooper! the cake guy wrote 'happy birthday june BABIS' instead of 'BABIES'!!! ahahahahhahahaha! there was a missing 'E'! God! padan muka suka sangat mencarut! see! what goes around comes around ;p

we already had a suprise birthday celebration for Kak Nik on hers last week. didnt know there's another one coming. Thank you so much to RB and MS :) nevertheless the cake guy didnt fail to make a statement by writing the wrong thing (its a habit isnt it?) on Kak Nik's cake! instead of writing 'happy 22nd birthday', it says 'happy 2nd birthday'! hahhahhaaaa.. theres clearly something wrong with this particular branch of Secret Recipe isnt it? ;p

rushed back to catch mum up. had dinner with her. i really need a piece of sanity by talking things thru with her. i was really afraid that the things i wanted to tell her will freak her out. but suprise suprise! she didnt ;p well knowing mum she is always capable of turning something soo depressing into a piece of cake. so thanks a lot mum for the great talk we had :)

all in all, Alhamdulillah, thank you Allah for a beautiful bittersweet day :) am enjoying my last days as a 19 year old to the fullest

there's something else

there are no shortcuts. in life or in love. this pain must be felt. its what makes us special, makes us beautiful, makes us worthy. the pain of how we love. the pain of getting what we want out of our lives. but that pain is accompanied by something else isnt it? and thats HOPE. with our pain there is hope and that is where we are, somewhere between agony, optimism and prayer..
we're human afterall. we're alive.. and the pain, just must be felt..

Malaysia: a confused state

"10 Prinsip Islam Hadhari"

megah bunyinya lebih-lebih lagi apabila dilaungkan si pemimpin yang niatnya sebagaimana diutus, adalah untuk mengangkat tanahair sebagai sebuah negara Islam terbilang. bagus. hati kecil anak bangsa Melayu ini menari-nari diiringi rentak bangga, melihat agama tercinta kian diperkasa. namun menjadi diri sendiri yang sentiasa berfikir kerana dahagakan kebenaran, maka kotak fikiran pun mulalah berputar, mencari jawapan kepada suatu persoalan yang masih tiada penghujungnya.

"Benarkah Malaysia sebuah negara Islam?"

Akibatnya tiada undang-undang seragam. Welfare state? Jauh sekali.

am working on it

right at this very moment, im working on my mooting compromy, reading up materials to help figure the case.taking a short break. i need to see some colours for a while. im also working on the thing i should do, in the emotional department. realizing how crappy my blog is, the fact that it has somehow become my emo beamo dumpster, im working on a decent article to redeem myself. i have yet to blog responsibly. the looooong sourceful and above all, critical post on sunil's bloggy scares me ;p talking about his blog, im working on something he has been claiming for. hehe. im also working on my Bahasa Melayu. something, which i should be good at, but unfortunately, otherwise. so good luck to me. no more looking back, working hard, and moving forward, is the only way to go! :)

two crazy people. one beautiful day

the day i have been waiting for is finally here. had a lunch date with missy zyra. someone i have been longing to see. the wise missy that knows how i function. my sister by soul, my confidante, and the hammer that knocks my loose screw straight, whenever it gets loose ;p and someone, who will be sitting for her last a-levels paper tomorrow, but was still willing to spend her day with me. thanx a lot hun. i really really appreciate this :)

we sat at The Apartment, and found nothing on the menu that makes us go 'oooo'.. so we ended up just having a drink, and that free bun bahaahaaaaa.. i had to go to ESU to meet the officer to settle some scholarship stuffs.met Auntie Fawzia, the SM, chitchatted for a mo. wait, wait and more waiting for the officer to show up. but the waiting isnt torturing at all having Ms. MJ with me :)

bumped into Kak Aizan when i got to klcc that noon. Kak Aizan is my God-Sister, a lawyer in petronas, (now u now why we get along) and also my mentor who deeply inspires me in humanitarian work. she in fact won a young humanitarian award last year. she was the one that invited me to join 'Tekad Project', a program founded by young professionals to coach, motivate and fund potential students from the rural areas. i find doing this work very rejoicing, and something youth today needs to get more involved with.

Kak Aizan is such a beautiful person. not to mention elegantly smart. she's a LSE grad (i dont really like the sound of LSE nowadays ;p), something which i just found out today despite years being close to her. she never mentioned that before. thats how humble she is. i only come to know about it when zyra came across this LSE sticker at her workstation. she was kind enough to give us some of her precious time by showing us around the legal department. met Halian and Azlan, IIU grads currently working there.

honestly experiencing the dullness of the legal office does not interest me much in working there one day. but i have to for 10 years! fine! i'll take up the challenge and will change the whole office into pink! God i sound so Elle-Wood-ish!

after the tour around the 68th floor, it was time to indulge ourselves with goooood fooooood for our late lunch. the perfect place? no other than Bakerzin! tho i wouldnt want to seat where we sat again for a certain reason.lol. what do two crazy heads do over great food? we talked talked camwhore talked camwhore munch munch and talked more and more! ;p
i thank GOD for today, a day i really really need. God knows why..
i've done the talking, i've done the thinking,i've also done the pondering..now im getting closer to executing what i have decided..

faith, is the only thing that kept me going..thanks to you that kept faithing me..and you know who you are :)

the million dollar speech,as mum put it ;p

*this was my speech for the ummatic week publicspeaking competition. thank you mum,dad and abg daud for the ideas, and the regimental training.hihi. and not to forget those who came to support, thank you guys :)

Assalamualaikum and a very good day. Despite my very long name, forgive me for a very short introduction because I am indeed in a rush, obviously not to just grab the prize, but rather to attend to a MORE pressing and urgent matter of the Ummah.

Let’s join our hands together to walk through this not so fictional journey.

Close your eyes and imagine.
Imagine...
more withering war thorn Islamic states.
Imagine...
the worsening condition of innocent women and children,
and lesser men alive to fight for their safety and world peace.
Imagine...
more cartoons and cynical jokes being crafted just to shake our resilience.
Imagine...
A country called Palestine being wiped out of the world map.

With that I stand here today to draw your attention on an important topic of my choice,
‘Islamic Gold Dinar: Urgent Need of the Day’.

First and foremost let me reiterate to you what is the underlying concept behind Islamic gold dinar. The dinar is bullion gold coin made of 4.25grams of 22 karat gold.
Historically, it was the official Islamic currency until the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1922. After disappearing for 77 years, the Islamic gold dinar was reintroduced in November 2001.
The key difference? Its conversion rate is based on gold spot price instead of the American dollar.

Need I convince you further WHY our excessive dependence on American dollar must stop?
Yes indeed I need to or else, I HAVE to call myself a failure.

Today, from left and right you can here people complaining that gas, food, and everything else is getting more expensive. As a matter of fact, when you think about it, you realize that actually these things have NOT gotten more expensive. It only seems that way because the value of the green paper money is worth less and less and so it takes more and more of it to buy the same goods and services. According to Bernard von NotHaus, a monetory architect at Norfed Organisation, American dollar has lost 96% of its purchasing power since 1913.

Most people think prices have gone up, but in reality: it is the value of the US dollar that has actually gone down. I bet you the face of George Washington stamped on that green bill is now wearing a frown instead of a smile.

Remember 1997? There was a HUGE and DEVASTATING currency raid by the famous George Soros, who leveled Asian monetory units and caused the major Asian economy to falter?
Am not sure how deep your knowledge is on that issue, but that Soros story per se is not the only factor behind that economic upheaval.

Recently the global share prices drowned in the sea of red due to the sub-prime mortgage crisis that took place in the United States. What paved ways to such nightmare is due to the very fact that we complacently and willingly allowed ourselves to be excessively dependant on America and its green colored bill. In other words, we blatantly put our past & future in the hands of the United States, blindly consenting ourselves to be manipulated.

As a quick aid to this problem, Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad proposed the introduction of Islamic gold dinar as the currency for international trade in the Muslim world to suppress the too overly traded American dollar. This brilliant idea is to ensure that the dollar’s instability does not affect international trade because Islamic gold dinar was to be tied up to the price of gold and thus provide stable value for the currency.

Gold dinar is honest money. It is inflation proof. Realizing how weak the American dollar has become, the US introduced Liberty Dollar, which is backed by real money.

Let me next reveal to you the overlooked power that Muslim nations actually possess.
Ladies and gentlemen, get ready to gape in awe.

The Muslim world consists of 56 countries with the population of 1.5 billion! That is a HUGE market! Even bigger that China’s!

Imagine..
60% of the world’s MOST WANTED resources are all nested in the Muslim countries.

Look at hydrocarbon resources. Do you know that many experts strongly admit that the world economy depends upon the Islamic world’s oil & gas exports, particularly in the Persian Gulf areas.

The Persian Gulf holds 2/3 of the planet’s discovered crude oil reserves.

Saudi Arabia alone holds 25.4% of the world oil reserves, in equal to 262 billion barrels.

Turkmenistan has between 99 to155 trillion cubic feet of natural gas reserves. Imagine how huge that is!

Let me excite you further.

Out of 18 oil-producing countries, 10 are of Muslim nations, producing 40% of world’s total petroleum production.

The same goes when you talk about other natural resources.

Statistic shows that Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are the two world’s largest gold producers.

40% of the world’s agricultural product comes from the Islamic world.

The world itself depends on us, so why should we allow ourselves to depend on the country that slaughtered our Muslim brothers, camouflaged with concerns for terrorism whereas terrorizing is a habit against their own preaches.

I have proven to you that we Muslim nations are born on a rich platter blessed with prosperity and economic wealth, sufficient enough to enable us to stand on our two feet, roaring together for a better world.

Dr. Martin Luther King once said, "our lives begin to end the day we remain silent on things that matter".

So, if today is not the day we change by uniting economically, you tell me when will that day come? Is it tomorrow? In 50 years or even a hundred years? But bare in mind folks, in this crazy world of today, even tomorrow might be too late.

The answer is with you. With that, ladies and gentleman, I thank you.

multitasking amidst multiplication of complications

dont worry. the content of this post isnt actually as heavy and troubling like the title might seems.. im exaggerating i know ;p its just that im pretty caught up in things at the moment. so many things are going on. not to mention the whirlwind of emotions which, erm, complicate things a lil. but thats under control, so far.

suddenly this week there are soo many stuffs to do. first, my mooting training has started. that alone takes up lots of time, and of course, loads of hardwork, which makes it harder for a non-hardworking lazybum like me! ;p then the club's board, which is already under construction. as im doing it singlehandedly, i suppose it'll finish a bit later than expected. then theres family gaths and dinners, which im trying to escape. bahahaaa.. owh i still need to spring clean my room. that too, will take a lot of time.

and most important of all, my final exam is approaching. i really need an A for this paper. i have started revising already as i promised myself, no more procrastination :) im tired of last minute studying. chewahhh..! yea ryte..

with all these stuffs going on, i have to admit im going haywire. im not complaining tho. its good in a way because it pushes away unnecessary pondering. i know i have to deal with all these. and i will, one by one. i'll cross the bridge when i come to it.

signing off~

the silent noise

when u drop a glass or a plate to the ground it makes a loud crashing sound.
when a window shatters. a table leg breaks, or when a picture falls off the wall it makes a noise.

but as for your heart, when that breaks, it's completely silent. u would think as it's so important it would make the loudest noise in the whole world, or even have some sort of ceremonious sound like the gong of a cymbal or the ringing of a bell. but it's silent and you almost wish there was a noise to distract you from the pain.

even if there's a noise, it's internal. it screams and no one can hear it but you. it screams so loud your ears ring and your head aches. it thrashes around in your chest like a great white shark caught in the sea, it roars like a mother bear whose cub has been taken away. thats what it looks like and thats what it sounds like. a thrashing, panicking, trapped great big beast, roaring like a prisoner to its own emotions.

but thats just the thing about love: no one is untouchable. it's as wild as that, the beast. it is, as raw as an open flesh wound exposed to salty sea water. but when it actually breaks, it's silent..

u're just screaming on the inside, and no one can hear it.

it's a syndrome

what is? blogging is, for me. how is that? well, after an attempt to be invisible for the past recent months i figure i can never leave the blogsphere. i need to pour my thoughts somewhere, so it wont stay flocked in my mind. i can go crazy, keeping it all inside.

so hello again folks! here goes, another blog of mine which happens to be the third. hahaa. lets just pray that this one isnt subject to deletion. this particular blog marks a significant point in my life. that, i'll divulge later =)
